Hope everyone it doing well. This past weekend I work a lot outside and did some pruning and removing brush. I feel like I need to go to work for rest lol.

Did get to rest in a hammock some though which is nice.

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well.
Well I'm back in college (had my second day today) and it's going to be stressful lol. But that's ok. Stress makes you get better and adapt.... Or so I hear.

Chem 2 after several years off is going to be a challenge but I knew that going in. Biology looks like it going to be pretty easy. As for philosophy. .... I don't know really what it's got be like yet.

Wish me luck!!!

You'll miss your college days soon enough, I know I do. Hang in and always reach out to someone when you're feeling overwhelmed. Good luck with your courses!

Hello,

I hope everyone is doing well.

I have had a few large life changes in the last week or so (Sorry, I am an over sharer lol!)

I quit my office job as a medical debt collector. (BLEH. To the worst job I have ever had. I loved the office. I loved the coworkers but I just could not take the negative aspect of calling people day after day. Not to mention the job was boring as heck. If I was lucky I maybe talked to 10 people a day and out of the 10, 7 were hang ups)

I had my first interview today at a local bar for waitressing/bartending which I have done before. I worked as a server/bartender from when I was 16 until I was 18. The owner is a family friend so the job is almost guaranteed which I am lucky for.

All and all I am excited for new adventures ahead. My new job will allow for extra free time to start pursuing a better career for myself and my family.

On a more animal related note, my boyfriend and I have decided to start fostering cats. We own a dog and a cat but wanted to help out our local shelter. They are still overwhelmed with tons of kitties and preggo mommas. It's sad to see how many animals are stuck in shelters due to poor ownership.

Wish me luck with a house full of fur babies everywhere! I am sure it'll be lots of fun. :)

Hoping everyone in the path of Hurricane Dorian stays safe in the coming days. Just saw it's expected to be a category 4 when it makes landfall possibly directly at Orlando.

I haven't been up to much, just hanging with B at the dog park, working on my copper jewelry, and trying to convince myself it was worth it to invest in a new car and not a mistake. 😅 Goodbye 300k+ mile cruiser!

And goodluck @peppersmom with the career change!

Thank you!

Agh, your dog is absolutely beautiful. I wish I could have a second dog but my spoiled diva would never allow it. :P

Thank you. 😊 I've debated the pros and cons of getting a second as well (I've always wanted a blood hound) but truth is I don't think I could handle it! B is a handful and then some. No need for alarms anymore, he wakes me up well before the sun and is full throttle all day! I love him terribly and couldn't picture life without him. He is just a puppy, so I'm looking forward to a long road ahead.

I'm guessing Pepper is your profile pic, and I can sense her/his charisma through the screen. Such a happy cutie! I forgot to wish you well with your fostering, and good luck not becoming a foster failure! 😂 It's so hard to let them go, even though you know you can't keep them all.

I have a friend with a Husky and he is the biggest lover but he is a handful. I have had him over night a couple times throughout his puppyhood and I can definitely understand how busy you are. I skipped out on the puppy stage for Pepper as she was my mom's dog that was rehomed to me at around a year old.

I am lucky that she likes naps as much as I do and equally as lucky that we live near a nice dog park to keep her busy and well exercised most days. She is the dog in my avatar picture and radiates diva energy every where we go.

We are set up to get our first foster cat tomorrow so fingers crossed all goes well. I have a feeling my cat obsessed boyfriend will have a harder time letting the foster go than I will as he already picked up some new cat goodies.

**Random life update***

I picked up a new betta tank from PetSmart. Originally $40+ and got it for $20. (How could I resist?!?!??!)

Now time to cycle and get ready for a new fish.

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

The boyfriend and I made a trip to a family owed fish store 1.5 hours away from our house to check out some plants/fish/set ups. They had allot of large unique specialty fish but not much of anything else. The bettas were incredibly disappointing. They only carried Veiltails and they were only in about 2 inches of water if that. I was surprised because the other fish in the store seemed well cared for.

I ended up just buying a few anubias nanas and java fern for my current bettas tank and headed home. The owner gave me the 6 java ferns for FREE. So I ended up only spending $12 on 3 nanas and 6 java ferns.

I'll post some before and after pictures of my bettas set up. He's living in a nice green lush tank now. (WOOO!!)

On my way home we ended up stopping at PetSmart and found a good deal on a 75 gallon set up so we bought it...now to figure out what we want to put in the tank. OI. I am feeling dangerous with a whole empty 75 gallons tank and two empty betta tanks...I think I have a busy fall/winter ahead of me lol!
