Hello from the state of Delaware USA

Hello everyone, I am new to Betta fish. I have done a lot of internet searches and glad I found you. On the web you get a lot of different answers about Betta fish and this forum is very very helpful. I have had fish before, Angel fish and Goldfish but it has been a while. Things have changed a lot on fish care. Hopefully my Betta will live a long and happy life as my other fish. Right now he is in a 2 gallon bowl but will be getting a 5 gallon tank. Thank you for being here to help.

Thumbs up hard to pick lol

I named after my most helpful cousin, Vincent or Vince for short I have only had him a week. Doing well and has made a bubble nest. Right now he is in a 2 gallon tank but moving up to a five soon. You can see a picture of him in the Betta bowl picture thread, where you see pictures of peoples tank. He looks black but he is blue I think, looks purple to me, lol..... I got him at my local small pet store, he flared at me when I looked at him the others did not, so I took him home. The lady at the store was very helpful, plus I did some web searches. This site is the best, love it.

Welcome. I want to first make sure you realize how awesome you are by doing all this research on keeping your lucky betta happy and healthy.

Depression is just like a broken bone, they both need medical attention and it's nothing to be ashamed of. Try to write at least ten healthy and positive things that are going on in your life. You will be amazed by how effective this is.

Hello and welcome to the forum

Animal testing is a terrible idea; they get all nervous and give the wrong answers.

thank you

thank you all for the warm welcome....I hope I can live up to the care of my Betta, everyone is so helpful. It is a whole new world on fish care, just a sign of the times,I can not believe how things have changed. Years ago you still never used tap water you would boil your water then let it sit for several days. now there is water conditioner and ph testing kits and all kinds of water tests. Years ago that was for salt water tanks never heard of that for fresh. Maybe the fish are weaker, so much pollution, and breeding. My Goldfish lived for about two years or more also my Angel fish lived the same. I don't know if that is a good thing or not. I read somewhere that fish could live in their teens. I will try and do my best.....thanks again!
