She is close-by enough that I could probably just drive there and get him myself, but she seems like a good breeder with a great track record, so the odds are in the HM's favor. I guess I'm just nervous by nature. I was the same way when I had my dog shipped to me as a puppy from Illinois. I couldn't relax until I knew she was off the plane and safely in my arms. The HM isn't coming until Saturday, supposedly, so I'll probably be just a little on edge until I see him swimming in his new tank.
Yeah he will be fine!

I found this place intimidating when I first started on it too! There's just so much to learn and you never really stop learning. I'm sure your HM will come healthy and he'll be in very good hands

Thank you both for being so kind to me. My shipping jitters are greatly soothed. I think I just have a tendency to worry too much, lol. And sabrinah, I'm relieved to hear that I'm not the only one who was initially intimidated by this forum. Like you said, there is so much to learn. The information seems endless, which is a good thing, I suppose, because we should never stop trying to keep our pets in the absolute best condition. Once more, thanks for everything! I cannot wait to meet the other members and their bettas and learn more about these beautiful little creatures.

I do need to warn you that these fish are addicting! I look forward to reading your posts and seeing your pictures!

Haha, welcome! @Nova betta is right --- I went from one fish to... One sec, I have to count .... 11 bettas in about 4 months. Two of mine will probably be going to new homes soon, but that's still a lot! You are entering a community of animal lovers (Haha, I almost typed "livers"!). I, personally, own *cough* 11 Bettas, 2 Maine Coons, 2 Gerbils, and I will hopefully be getting a Leopard Gecko soon. <3

The Males~
Lucifer, Gabriel, Titan, King, Finnegan, Fin-again & Ricky.
Lucifer & Gabriel are my only non-rescues...

Oh it so nice to meet fellow animal lovers! @ThatFishThough those Maine Coons sound amazing! I don't have any cats myself, but we feed a bunch of feral cats in our backyard, along with raccoons, opossum, squirrels and birds. Yeah, my family is a bit crazy like that, haha. We actually recently rescued an injured pigeon that our neighbors were trying to shove out of their yard with a broom.

And as far as bettas go, yes, I think I am hopelessly addicted already. Besides the two I have now, I know I can comfortably fit another three into my room, so I'm trying not to look at a lot of fish eye candy until after my birthday in July, when I'll have some more money to set-up my 10g into a really special aquarium. I'm also considering getting a snail or two, but I'm a bit confused as far as compatibility goes. That's a discussion for a different thread, though. :)

I'm really glad I stumbled onto this site with its wealth of information. I actually spent the whole day reading the posts and journals. There is so much I have to learn!

I must warn you, the journals can get addicting. I read one journal, I believe it was by @logisticsguy , in two days. It was a lllooooonnnnngggg journal and my eyes were killing me at the end. His is full of great, detailed information. I highly recommend reading it if you have a few days to kill!

Thanks, sabrinah! Yeah, the journals look like a ton of fun. I might start one of my own over the three-day weekend, not that I have much to discuss as of yet. Also, I found the one you recommended and started reading it. It is very cool to see the different betta breeds, especially the giants. They look amazing and more than a little fierce, in a good way, of course!

Haha, my aunt is like that. She feeds a family of foxes, 13 feral cats, a pair of doves, and hopeless
amounts of other wild birds.
