Smile Molly Babies

I just removed the cover from my 75 gallon after a 2 week long blackout for velvet. Well, everyone looks healthy, and I now have more fish than I had before the outbreak. The tank's blue, though.

It looks like there's at least 10 molly fry in there. They're big and quick enough that the betta doesn't seem to be able to catch and chow down on them - I've watched her try, but they're quick little buggers.

This is kind of a "let nature take its course" tank. There are a ton of hiding spaces for the little guys, and I can see them eating. And I guess it doesn't matter how long it takes for them to grow up, since I'm not going to sell any unless the tank gets overcrowded.

Sooo...I guess I just wanted to say it...

YAY! BABIES!

The mollies are adorable! If you had to guess, how many do you figure are in there?

I've spotted ten. That probably means anything from 10-15.

Youre due for another batch in 2-4 weeks then :D And for another 5-6months :D Gotta love mollies....

Im moving my week old molly fry later this week, as I feel bad with them in the breeder box. They are going into the betta breeding tank until they are sold or I get mum to set up her own darned growout. (My mum has 2 female mollies, both of whom will now be spurting babies for at least 6 months. There is a male in there too, so i will be seeing a lot more, I am certain).

The female(s) spawned in the day, so the female hadn't been boxed... I had to catch all the little sods before the guppies/gourami ate them all.

Im not the worlds biggest fan of mollies/guppies/platies on the whole... but these little babas are pretty cute... :D

I like them more than I expected. They are active and add a lot of action to the 75g. When we get too many mollies, we'll separate out our favorites, turn in the rest at the local pet shop (Assuming they take them, I'm pretty sure they will), and add a new molly to keep the gene pool from getting too inbred.
