I've been petting sitting for almost the past week. Today is my last day, and tomorrow I go back home. I can't wait to see all of my critters!
I went home on Friday so I could check up on everyone, and feed the reptiles. I've been keeping an eye on Sebastian some because last week when I went to feed him I noticed that he was wheezing, which is a sign of a respiratory infection, however he didn't have any of the other symptoms like mucus coming from his nostrils, the forked part of his tongue sticking together, bubbles, etc. I noticed that sometimes you would hear it, and then others not at all. I'm thinking he might be getting ready to shed. I know that sometimes snakes wheeze right before a shed. I'm pretty sure Sampson has done it before...Other than that nothing else to report. I don't have my weekly weigh in on the baby crested because I haven't been home, and I totally forgot about it on Friday
Some good news I do have to share is I got a part time job on Friday! Hoping to start it later this week. Y'all won't believe where it is at either...Petsmart
I'm going to be a pet associate for them. The lady mainly hired me because she realized my extensive knowledge on pets, and I was the only one that applied...I'm hoping I can do a good job, and help maintain the animals better because we all know how a Petsmart can be.
On a note about this though, the lady asked me to tell her about the care of a chameleon (they had a veiled there), so while I was telling her the veiled came up to the front of his window, and was just begging to be out. He was super friendly! I was almost ready to take him home...which I might do if he is still there when I get my cage up and running.
The pictures I have to share this week are of wildflowers along the Neuse River Trail. The neighborhood I'm staying at backs up to it, and the people let me borrow one of their bikes. I went out yesterday just to see what it was like, and today I took the pictures that I've posted. No idea what the names of the flowers are. I will tell you that between yesterday and today I've probably biked 10-12 miles; also I haven't been on a bike in years. The dam pictured is called Milburnie Dam.
*Oh I believe the turtles are yellow ear sliders. I'm pretty sure people feed them, because they were coming right up to me.
**The bird is a blue heron, in case you don't know.
