I am missing a Raspbora and apparently, if he died, the body is nowhere to be seen. There should be 8 of them and only 7 are present and accounted for. Between the cories, ramshorns, and MTS, along with the huge amount of plants on the bottom of the tank I'm unlikely to ever find the body.... Othen then that mystery, the cory's are all doing good, the remaining rasbora look healthy, and RuPaul continues to rule the tank. I've finally gotten the nitrates back under control after completely messing them up by topping the tank off with nitrite laden tap water. I'll explain more on that in a bit.
My poor Bruiser seems to be taking a turn from the worst and the tumor is getting the best of him :'-( He's having more trouble swimming and seems to spend most of his time resting in his plants. He does still have a good appetite. He's breaking my heart though, I love that feisty boy and out of all my boys, even though I love them all, he's always been my favorite. I wish there was something I could do to help him.
Lagniappe remains his usual brat self. He's so curious and loves to watch whatever I'm doing on the counter, he'll swim over to watch. If I put anything up to his tanks glass he just has to flair at it and try and scare it away. Sort of saying the tanks his, "Go Away!!!".
Corky is doing well. He's the shyest of my boys and spooks easily. He also still has a bit of trouble swimming but that's probably his swim bladder and body shape. I'll never purposely get another twin tail betta, but I'll never regret rescuing him!
Hendrix is doing well, and I won the fight with the Nitrites and Nitrates in his water, but it took me nearly all month to do so! I can't wait to get him into the 10 gal, 1 1/2 more weeks to go! He's so active that he really needs more swimming space and hopefully he'll love the 10 gal.
Speaking of 10 gal, I'm overhauling it. I'm going to try and turn it into a natural planted tank, I really hope it turns out better then the last time I tried one a couple years back. Let's just say I learn lessons the hard way
It should be done in the next day or two, that'll give it time to settle down before I put Hendrix in it.
