Two tanks, algae issues...
Battling some algae right now.
8 gallon: brown algae on the glass and merbaby statues. It seems to be less of an issue now that there are plants in the tank. Hoping it goes away entirely soon. But it is interesting to see it grown on the white statues - its grows like a culture in an agar dish -- spotted colonies. Possibly seeing some hair algae. I hope not.
14.5 gallon: hair algae on the plants, background and driftwood. I'm going to cut down on feeding -- I think I'm overfeeding, not used to having communities and I'm worried someone will miss out on the food. Going to shut the light down for a few days.
Any tips for knocking out the hair algae? It doesn't want to scrape off of the driftwood, but it is coming off of the background and plants. I've lost pretty much all of my red root floaters because algae is getting on them, but the dwarf water lettuce isn't affected at all.
Absolutely no algae issues in the 2.5 gallon but the lighting on it is pathetic so that is expected ;)
