Ridding Anacharis of Snails

I want to move some Anacharis from my tank that has a lot of baby ramshorns to my 5 gal that does not have ramshorns, and I do not want to transport snails to that tank.

Is an Alum dip safe to use on anacharis and if so what's a good concentration to use? I've read anywhere from 2 to 5 tbsp, to 10 tbsp per gal so I'm not sure what to use and I know that some plants are a lot hardier then others. Also how long to soak the plants for? Again I've been reading conflicting advice anywhere from 12 hours to 48 hours.. I want to kill the snails off not the plant.
