Amazon Sword

I have an amazon sword that had a long stem when purchased. Since purchasing, another plant with very long roots has grown on this stem. It is now too heavy and causes the stem to fall over.

I've tried to do research on if and how I can cut this new plant off, but can't find how I should go about doing this. Does anyone know how to do this?

Cut it off where the root touches the stem, trim the ends of the roots (1cm max) to encourage growth. Then plant.

Typically you get a new plant every 3-4 inches
