Thanks for the complement. and sure there are a few tips and tricks I have up my sleeve.
1: use food to bring him out or treats like bloodworms
2: use a mirror. that will distract him from the camera
3: have him get used to the camera, bring it out everyday or so and maybe give him treats every time the camera comes out so that way he will get used to it.

    Hey BubblesTheBlueBetta,

Barry is doing pretty good, the section he bit is growing back, and his tears are healing. I think I figured out that the pH of his tank was fluctuating too much too fast with each water change. I don't know what is going on, but I almost wonder if it is him that raises the pH. I have been adding water very very slowly to acclimate him each water change now. My treated tap water is about a 7.6 pH, and his water is about a 8.3 each week when I change it. This week after I took out about a gallon and slowly added new water, it was about a 8.1, and it is back up to about an 8.3 again today. Anyway, I have seen notable improvements in the past week, which is really something. He was seemingly falling apart for a while with hardly any healing. Thank goodness I think I figured it out. I hope that in about 2 weeks I can take a good picture of progress.

    :)
