Your's is nicerwith all that green. He's some style of copper is what.

I'm sorry, I'm going to have to delete that last post. It blows up my front-page.

Pineapple is yellow scales with black scale-tips. If I see a pic, I'll show you. If his body color were blue, he'd be a MG (mustard gas...what an unfortunate description. Thai breeders don't have the background to know that). Color-wise, he's a copper---several layers of color that change when the angle of the light changes. But he's so clearly green..most unusual fish.

So Aku is a 4-ray HMPK. I really like that. Anybody can HM up with excess branching (8-ray, 16-ray.....)

I got some of mine at Petsmart. Sold in tubes by Nutrafin orTetra (I think). Got a better selection at my LFS.

I'm the Anubias King. Almost all my plants are some form of Anubias (big, little, medium, long-leaf). Tough, low-light, hard-to-kill. But they grow very slowly and don't do much for water quality. They make great shade, hides, hammocks when you float them. Floating plants are good.

Plants, for me, are more trouble than keeping fish. Special lights, timers, substrate, fertilizer, etc. That's for fast-growing plants that eat ammonia. Check the planted tank section of this forum

As per your thread, cycling is the second best way to keep ammonia at 0.0ppm which keeps the other toxins 0.0 nitrite and <10ppm nitrate. The best way is to use a lot of fast-growing live plants to eat the ammonia and ....well, once that's done you're golden. I have no skills with plants. I have a lot of Anibias and one Amazon sword, so I rely on the nitrogen cycle to keep my ammonia 0.0ppm.

I'm not sure IAL is available locally. If your LFS has it, they're really great. Check in the planted tank section. This fall I'm going to try dried Oak leaves to provide tannins for my wild Betta to keep his pH down.

Thanks for the Friends' List invitation. My pleasure.

Your copper CT is amazing. You might want to try some driftwood in his tank, or mabybe some Indian Almond Leaves (IAL) to naturally ower his pH. NOT chemicals. A lower pH will help straighten his rays.

    Welcome to the forum.
