Betta_addict36 Petsmart, not parakeet (autocorrect am I right). I know there's lots of typos near the end of that (it was late!) But i can't figure out how to Edit that and that's the only huge one I see.

Betta_addict36 Oh wow! I love the cute little corys! I personally have 2 albinos and an emerald. That's really cool that you have 8! I'm surprised yours hide, mine are always front and center in my tanks. I guess iy just shows do tell how different the personalities of a school can be! Next time, I plan on going to an actual fish store for my corys. I love pet o and they sell beautiful fish but there's a store just a bit farther than them I just discovered called about fish and they not only sell prettier bettas but they seem to be a bit cheaper too. Heres the betta I got from them (their M kois are $8) Attachment 962984 compared to one I got from petco (their M kois are $15) Attachment 962986 shes not a koi but i think you get the idea. Don't get me wrong, they're hoth stunning in my eyes but I have to admit Im happier with the ones I get from the fish store. Not only are they more vibrant but oftentimes petco arent the healthiest (although nowhere near as bad as parakeet if you ask me).

Rainbo I'm sorry that happened, but at least you know what the problem was.

Hopefully any new ones you get will be young and healthy. I got lucky with the last 3 emerald cory's I got, they were very young and had just got to PetSmart, they brought my shoal up to 8 and everyone has been healthy and happy. The game I play is, "let's try to find all 8 of the cories." Normally I can only find 6 or 7, the little things are really good at hiding!

Betta_addict36 He was dead 😞 I called the petstore back and they said he was surrendered to them after all 3 of the lady's other cats died of age. In other words he was already CRAZY old and moving him didn't help. He was really cool though when watching him in the pet store so I think I will get another younger one soon!

Rainbo He would probably do better with around 5 or 6 other peppered cory's. They are shoaling fish and can be really stressed when they are alone.

trahana Cory can swim fast enough to hurt themselves. I have heard of someone who had cory that would propel themselves up into the tank hood, and they would damage themselves, go into shock, and often die(the fact that this had been happening a lot made me think the owner was an idiot however, as he only posted after the fifth time it happened).

This might have happened to you. I suggest releasing cory in the dark, and make sure they have plenty of hiding places.

Peppered Cory-is he ok?

Hello, earlier today I got what is was told was a spotted/pepper cory catfish. I acclimated him for at least 30 minutes and when I released him he swam frantically around the tank before just stopping. Now he's just floating around on the top and not moving and I cant even tell if hes breathing. Is this typical behavior for newly introduced corys or did I somehow kill him? My albino corys and emerald corys didnt do this when I introduced them.
