Owh no worries hunny, mine tore the caudal fin (tail) off in January. It has almost all grown back ^^ just keep up with the water changes so it does not infect with disease. In a week or two you will see very weak and fragile white stuff growing out of its fins which are the actual fins that are growing back! Clean ,warm, (aquarium salt) treated water will do the job.

|Aluyasha||Just some clean water and maybe some aquarium salt will be just fine. As long as his water is clean and a good temp he will just heal up on his own.|

1st betta, already made a mistake...advice?
I got this wonderful betta 2 weeks ago, named him JAZZ
(very energetic when i picked up his tiny cup at the petshop, made me think: JAZZ HANDS lol)
Until today he lived in a little fish bowl my mother purchased for me. I had googled bettas to make sure I was looking after him properly- of course I found out he was a lot more work than I bargained for BUT I was up for the challenge!
He is my first pet, so I wanted to do it right. I got him a five gallon with all the fixings (heater, filter, thermometer, water conditioners, hidy holes etc)
I had read about how some filters had a low setting and everything seemed fine, he was really active. I thought I had blocked off the bottom of the filter with the little heater I got him...but then he somehow got in there and tore a fin. It's currently off until I can get a little something to block that grate. I should have gotten a bit of panty hose like I read to cover that stupid grate.
I thought I was being careful
Is there something I can do for his poor fin?
