I just bought a female HM betta already with horizontal stripes. Is that good? Will there be a problem breeding? Usually the bettas in the store are separated, partitioned, and “half-dead” just waiting. What can I do?

Update, I put the betta in a calm darkened corner for about 4 hours, the stripes are still there. So now, I am convinced they are part of the betta's features. See picture.

She’s young, juvenile bettas, especially females, have horizontal stripes. Just means she’s too young for breeding. When she’s ready to breed, she’ll develop vertical stripes called breeding stripes. I’ll post an example:

P.S. it’s not recommended to breed bettas from chain pet stores, they often have weak genetics that result in more deformities/genetic issues. If you want to breed bettas Id reccommend looking into a reputable breeder and buying a breeding pair from them :)
