Hi,
My male Betta fins are changing color to red, not sure if he is sick, stressed or going thru a color change. Tank water is kept clean. Maybe due to stress? Should not be fin rot unless he had when I purchased.

What food brand do you use? Betta Bio-Gold pellets & Fluval Bug Bites
Do you feed flakes or pellets? Pellets
Freeze-dried? No
How often do you feed your Betta? How much? 2 times a day, 8-10 pellets & 4-5 bug bites
Maintenance:
Before your Betta became ill how often did you perform a water change? Every 2 weeks. 100% week 3
What percentage of water did you change? 25-75% just depends
What is the source of your water? Spring & tap water
Do you vacuum the substrate or just dip out water? Vacuum
What additives do you use other than conditioner? sometimes add aquarium salt. What brand of conditioner? Imagitarium water conditioner

How has your Betta’s appearance changed? Yes, part of the ventral & pelvic fins have changed color to red
How has your Betta’s behavior changed? No
Is your Betta still eating? Yes
Have you started treating your Betta? If so, how? I did a few weeks ago with Mardel for 3 days but stopped because I read that stress could cause his fins to change color which he may have due to the glare from the tank. I since added a background screen to prevent the flaring up.
Does your Betta have any history of being ill? Do not know the history
How long have you owned your Betta? 2-1/2 months
Was he or she ill or suffering some sort of damage when purchased? maybe, not certain.
