My bettas tank needed to be topped off because of evaporation. I used Dasani water to do this, and even put in the water conditioner just in case.
But now I am wondering if it was okay to use purified bottled water to top off his tank?

Hi everyone, I got a betta two weeks ago. These are the details of my tank:

some gravel (not enough to cover the base of the tank)
pH level around 7.0-7.6 (it varies)
11 W lamp
I'm in the process of cycling it right now.

The reason why I am doing this is because I have had so much trouble setting up my tanks even though I've done everything I can think of for them. I have lost so many fish that I've...
My male betta has super severe fin rot so I'm moving him to a 1.5 gallon QT tank. My tap water is really hard (180ppm) with 1ppm ammonia in it and a ph of 7.6. Because the water quality is so bad, so I decided to use bottled water so my betta could recover.
I know that pure RO water is bad...
