I am a new betta owner, and am stuck on when to do my first partial water change.
I set up my tank around 8 days ago (June 5th) and added my fish 5 days ago (June 8th). I remember reading that you should wait to complete your first water change until your cycle is complete. Is this...
Hello everyone, I have recently bought a 50 liter fish tank (13 gallons) and I was wondering some of you would be so kind as to give me some advice for setting it up and what brands I should stick to.
I'm trying to look for cheap (but not too cheap) equipment for the fish tank and methods for...
This is a setup for a 20 gallon regular.
Here is a stocking list:
• Bumblebee Catfish (Microglanis iheringi, x2-3)
• Lemon tetra (Hyphessobrycon pulchripinnis, x5-6)
• Dwarf Gourami (Colisa lalia x1) or Betta (Betta splendens (must be a male short finned, regular or giant)

I read somewhere that burying a cuttlefish bone (the same as used for birds) under the aquarium gravel is good for snails because it gives off calcium to supplement their shell growth. I've got one Zebra Nerite in with my betta in a 2.5 gallon tank. Thoughts?
It's not cycled, but I do have a...
I plan to add in:
Gravel or Sand
A sponge filter
Driftwood (Almost the tank size)
Maybe another fish or snail
Mystery snail prehaps
I also need to find a way to keep dust out of my tank. Like, is their other kritter keeper lids i can find that do not have slots. I...
This is a complete set ($80), comes with hood (lights will need replacing soon), 2 HOB filters (no media), a 200W heater, 2 backgrounds, air stone, nets, water changer, and stand...everything will need cleaning but otherwise is good, no cracks, leaks, etc. Back of tank is painted black but...
My plan was to add a shelf to my bed room. The tank will be ethier depending on space, weight it can support, and budget: Notice that all the tanks will have a airpump with a filter and a undergravel mini heater:
Tetra 1 Gallon LED Half Moon Betta Kit
Petco Mini Aquarium Kit
Tetra 1.5 Gallon...
This thread is for people to post pictures of their dream tanks! The pictures can be ones you've found online, drawn yourself, or saw other places! The tanks don't have to be realistic at all. It is just a tank that would be perfect for you. I usually watch the show Tanked and just sit and go...
I bought a Fluval Spec V this afternoon, brought it home, aquascaped and planted it, and then set it up to run. Within a few minutes, it was leaking all over the place. The front seam was bad and no amount of caulk (all I had on hand) was going to help.
So now I'm looking again...
I've had my betta, Ziggy (Full name, Ziggy Stardust) for about 6 months, and he's been pretty happy and healthy in his 1.5 gal cube, with regular water changes every 3 to 4 days. He also has a heater and a few ornaments he enjoys hiding in and swimming around.
Ziggy is still a pretty small...
Take a look at this betta tank I found on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Betta-Tank-Clear-Catalog-Category/dp/B005X09F1W/ref=sr_1_53?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1347158326&sr=1-53&keywords=Betta
