Ok... so my lfs finally got wilds! Heyyy, l can't pass that up! They got just 3 species- coccina, sp api api and antuta. Well, l'm definitely not getting the atutas, cause as you know, my tank is just a 20 gallon. That being said, l can't decide on wether l should get coccina or sp api api! As far as l know, their care requirements are the same. And they're both amazing fish:love:. What do you think l should do? @Feanor

I got Api Api already.

A seller said me he had coccina dot and no dot. Maybe different population. I miss the oportunity to get them.

Window Tints and shades Glass Transparent material Wood

Window Red Fish Arthropod Fin

Maybe next time.

But still I would opt one Api Api.

Whatever you choose its gonna be good.

Best of luck.

Best regards,

OMG my LFS brought in a pair of wilds as well this week😍😍😍! (Seems like all Greek LFSs are getting wilds this season). I can't really help you decide since I have zero experience with wilds, but I'm REALLY excited for you! Please give us regular updates😍

I'm leaning to Api Api... Such incredible fish. They are sold 2 cm, l'm hoping they'll grow a little
The Coccinas are sold 4.5 cm, which is quite the difference, surprisingly.

Mines are around 4cm. It's their size. Those migth be a litle small. But will grow for sure.

Best of luck.

Even though I have no wild experience, I vote for api api, they're smallER and gorgeous😍

I haven‘t kept coccina, so can‘t tell.

Api-api should be a rather outgoing species and should reproduce in clean and soft water.

So you either need a reliable rain water supply or a reverse-osmosis unit in order to get offspring.

So no blackwater for them? LittleBettaFish bred them in blackwater.... Or by clean you mean it just needs to be clean as to no ammonium etc?

But my water from the tap is 6.5 ph and the kh is extremely low, so lowering the ph is very very easy for me. lf you still think it'd be necessary l can look into it...

Also, after reading the whole conversation again, it seems like l just saw the fish at the lfs and decided to get them without any preparation.... Well nope... After my Hendras died l've since talked with so many people and done huge efforts to improve my set up...And l know that l'd said l'd go with an easier species to not risk any more fishes.... But I've learned so much in the last three months that l'm really really confident l can do it...And l made sure the fish are captive bred, which usually means are less demanding with water parameters....
