So I was on aqadvisor.com and my planned stocking level is over my filter capacity by 5% on each tank. Is it possible to have one canister filter work on two tanks. I know I could do it with a sponge but they seem to disturb the water a lot. I was hoping to have one small canister do both aquariums with their internal filters still going. Do they make a kit that does this or does this involve some DIY ingenuity?

Just saying Aquaadvisor isn't always right. You can get a canister filter for the tanks, but canisters are expensive for good ones. There may be a kit.

What are you stocking in the tank and how big is the tank.

2 Amano Shrimp

10 gallon tank according to aqadvisor 99% filtration and 75% stocked

Also I'm looking at sponge filters for the tanks.
