I have a 1 gallon bowl for my betta right now (I'm thinking I'll upgrade to something bigger once I move house and have more room). I have a small heater at the moment, but it's not adjustable, it's old, and lately it's been heating the water a bit hotter than I'd like at random times so I really have to keep an eye on it.

In the meantime before I upgrade, I'd like to get a more reliable heater. I've been looking around and I can't seem to find anything that will work in my size of bowl that is also adjustable. Does anyone know of a brand/product that would work well?

Thanks for your help!

I don't know about an adjustable one for a 1 gallon, but when you upgrade, a hydor theo 25 W is great. It's adjustable, $20 on amazon, and heats 2-7 gallons. If you buy $25 or more of products from amazon you get free shipping too. I've had it for 2 weeks now, and I love it. I have it set at 79 degrees and it stays there except on warm days(sort of having early spring here). On warm days it keeps it at 81 degrees. I read all the reviews for it on amazon(there were about 40) and the only trouble some people had was that it wouldn't adjust. Most of the reviews were 4 or 5 stars. Some other heaters they sell on amazon have bad reviews such as leaking heaters, exploding heaters, and heaters that boiled fish(100 degrees or so). I know its a bit pricey, but very well worth your money. I was told here that Fluval was the best, with Hydor and Eheim Jager next best. Sorry for the long post, hope I helped.:)
