Hi, I recently bought an air pump and an airstone for my betta’s tank. But I’m afraid the pump is a little too strong, when I connected it, my betta seemed a little agitate. Should I leave it on for a few minutes and wait if it relaxes him?

You could lower the flow by using an adjustable air control valve like this:

Air control valve
I would wait but that is how I almost lost a neon tetra that air pump was so strong it blew the tetra out of the water literally but wait a bit and see what happens
Thank you so much for your responses, but no worries, I’m supposed to go to the Petco today and exchange it for a more delicate pump. If that doesn’t work, I will buy that Air control valve that @Feanor mentioned.

Thanks again!
