I have a Betta in a 2.5 or 3 gal tank (cannot really remember). The tank is starting to get a bunch of algae in it. What would be best to use? Should I really upgrade to a 5 gal. tank?
Saw something on here about a Nerite Snail, will it climb the side of the tank to get the algae up at the water line? What about the algae at the bottom on the rocks i have in it?

Doesn't it all come off when you do 100% water changes?
Nerites are the best algae eaters.. But you'll need to be careful about water quality.

It does come off when I do a 100% water change. I was just wondering about for the inbetween, as I do not have much time on my hands and only do 100% change once a month. He seems happy enough with that, but algae just builds up over that time.

Ideally you should be doing x1 100% way change and x1 50% water change weekly, to keep ammonia and other substance content minimal. The algae is most likely thriving off of extra light and excess nutrients, lowering your light amount to 8 hours daily and doing proper water changes would most likely lower the amount of algae
