Anal fins stuck together

One of my bettas has his anal fins "stuck" together at the tips. He also has a tear in it. I suspect, being the dare devil he is, he tried to jump into his filter... again...

Do they "unstick" themselves? Should I do anything for care or maintenance? I added some stress coat to his water. Nitrates 0, Ammonia 0.

That is what clamped fins look like. This happens when they are ill. It looks like he's had some color changes as well. Shine a flashlight on him and see if you see any gold or rust colored dust or (if it's really bad) a gold or rust colored coating. This is velvet, and will need to be treated asap. Velvet is already present in the water, and many pet store bought fish already are infected with
it. It will spread quickly when a fish's immune system is compromised - it usually happens because unclean water conditions are taxing his health.
And as pp stated, you need to be doing more water changes. Were you using any other type of water conditioner before the stress coat?

Can you show us a picture of your betta?

I'm confused. Lol Thats not my post? This boy doesn't have velvet that I can see. He is active, eating, normal otherwise. Water changes are done frequently and I check my water daily with the api test kit. There are no color changes either. Maybe I'm being confused with someone else?? I'll post pics :) It looks like damage to my untrained eye. Thank you for replying though! Hope the fins are not clamped!

He'll likely spread back out again as he gets over whatever he did to himself, I'd only be worried if he doesn't go back to normal within 24-48 hours. Betta's are masters at generating mini heart attacks in owners. For any minor fin issues clean warm water is the most effective treatment, which it sounds like he has. If he's acting at all stressed you can turn off his tank lights and give him some calm down time.

Oh my goodness, I just had a scare...

I thought I'd add a little bettafix to his water since I was pretty certain it was just fin damage.

Well, he cannot tolerate it! Within 5 minutes he had strong stress stripes. He bolted around the tank in a panic. His beautiful purple and peach colors went pale. His body turned gray and his chin turned white!!!

I dosed it exactly as it instructed!

I got him from the tank, in a clean cup of water, did 100% water change to his tank, used Prime as the conditioner... and put him back in. I turned up his heater just a little. He looks content. Just ate a pellet and is doing his wiggle tail again when he sees me.

Is this common from bettafix?!? I'm throwing it out! I hope it hasn't done long term damage to him!

PS - Is there anything else I SHOUL add? AQ salt? Stress Coat? Leave well enough alone?! LOL
