Despite a three week quarantine, I had anubias develop rot and spread it throughout my tank of established beautiful 3-4 year old anubias as well as through part of my son’s currently fallow tank except for his prior plants (4-5 years) and the plants quarantining.

it is the third time anubias from this Well known company has developed rot, although my first plants from them are doing well. I always caught it during quarantine before. I always thought it was caused by lighting or ferts or bleach dip even though i have had zero issues with any petsmart/ petco plants with the same treatment and thise had to be acclimated to water! This batch had lights and ferts but they were not heated until the third week because i had a betta in the quarantine tank.

i will not order from this company again. Chain stores have limited variety and timing of what arrives and no online ordering. Any favorite successful places recommended? I am primarily jnterested in anubis varieties but i have been tryig to branch into a few other varieties. Java ferns do not do well in my tanks between the summer heat and hard water.

I’m currently building an order from Aquarium Plants Factory. They’re highly recommended by @RussellTheShihTzu and had a specific moss I wanted to get.

My first online plant order was from Marcus Fish Tanks. I’d say it was a good experience in terms of the plant quality and portions. They’re very healthy and vigorous.

But, the plants contained some variety of pet snails, as well as a live mosquito (probably hatched shortly after arrival), and what may have been a planaria.

I quarantined them for about a month in a tank with an air stone and good lighting after I had done a couple of alum dips and a quick bleach dip on the hardier plants.

I wouldn’t have really objected to ordering there again, but they didn’t have the plant I wanted.

I'm so sorry this happened!

You could always go with pothos/devils ivy. I have some in pots, and when those get too long I take a couple of cuttings and put them in water for a hydroponic treatment to harden off the cut end to avoid any toxicity issues. After a few days or whenever I put them in with my bettas. I have very hard water and growing these at the house means they're already acclimated, plus I don't have to worry about the things like you've both described above.

The leaves look marvelous and the roots grow so well I have to trim them back every now and then. Any leaves that are under water do just fine :)
