So about a month and a half ago, I bought a baby betta. She's (pretty sure it's a girl now instead of a boy) been doing pretty well except her coloring has faded. Top photo is from about four weeks ago, then bottom photo is from today. The water temp is fine and is usually between 75 and 77 degrees, she's been eating and is very active, ph level is good, and I change the water every 3 days. I have no idea what's going on.

Her color could just be changing into her adult one.

She used to be a bright red, now she's kinda pinkish with clear fins. I don't really know if that's normal since this is the first baby fish I've taking care of.

Is she eating normal?

Yeah, I have mini pellets for her to eat and feed her three, three times a day. And she gobbles everything up as soon as the food's in the water.

If she is off her food, that would have worried me. Betta's never refuse food

No she eats just fine, and eats all the food I put into her tank. She's acting normal except for her color is fading. I dunno though, when I got her, she was white-ish and kinda transparent. Though that could be because she was super tiny.

Alright, I'm just a little worried though since she went from bright red to almost no color :/

anything new in her tank? is she stressed?

maybe you are the lucky owner of a marble!

my bettas go from like blue to burple all the time... and their fins are opaque and translucent sometimes

She doesn't seem stressed. There isn't anything new in the tank, except a new filter. Maybe I'm just freaking out for no reason?

Is the filter blowing her around at all? Her loss of colour may be a reaction to that. Does she have some hiding places?

I'd maybe try raising the temperature a couple of degrees.

It does a little, and she's got a big cave and two plants. Oh! I just remembered that she used to have three plants in her tank, but I took one out and gave it to my new fish. Dunno if that could cause anything?

It could be, but I'd say it's more likely to be the filter. Have you tried baffling it?

Uh, I dont know what that is. But I do have a sponge on the bottom part of it so she doesn't get stuck to it

There is a thread on here about baffling. You use a clean water bottle cut to size and fit over the part of the filter that throws the water back into the tank. This way the pressure is dispersed to the sides and has much less punch. You can use the search tool at the top and put in baffle or baffling and you should find a thread that explains it.

Just to add some betta's do not like any kind of flow, what size tank is it. If it's under five gallons you don't really need a filter.
