Hello! So I recently gave in and bought one of those "baby boy" bettas from the petstore. He's doing great, I've only had him about a month and his fins are growing longer by the day!

His main fin color is an indigo blue with some red as well, but it seems like all of the new fin growth is basically clear! I knew that new fin growth after fin rot tends to be clear, but I was wondering if these new clear spots would eventually color in, or if he's just growing clear fin ends?
I figured they would color in but all of the new fin growth since I got him has stayed clear until this point. Any ideas?

Here's some pics of him when I first got him and some progress pics of the new growth. You can see the growth but the colors haven't moved up since I first got him. Any ideas? Sorry for the so so quality, he's constantly on the move!

He's currently in a 2.5 gallon tank
Parameters are as such
Ammonia-0 ppm
Nitrite- 0 ppm
Nitrate - 10-20 ppm

Fully cycled, live planted tank.

Hello, and congrats on your baby! I just got my own 2 months ago.

The fins should color in, Fawkes' fins grew clear before turning a dark red.

Good to hear! I've only had him around a month so I wasn't sure if I just needed to wait a while longer haha.

How long did it take yours to fill in with color?

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out tail type and I think he's a veiltail based on the rays, but only time will tell! He just gets prettier each day <3

A week or two at most maybe? I wouldn't worry, he seems quite healthy from the pictures.

Also, I wouldn't cross out the possibility your boy could be a delta as well.
