I have a male and female in breeding tank with female in chimney. Temp is in upper 70's and both seem happy and flareing and dancing at each other. I have plastic plants and a halved styrophome cup in the corner that the male is constantly under trying to create his bubble nest. He will come out and show off to the female and go right back to hus work..... only all the bubbles he is making are poppping!! He has been at it for 24 hours or more! Any advice would be great!

Top is on tank with no drafts. I dont understand the aged water thing. Everything Ive read says to change the water often. But where do I get the leaves? The bubbles pop right away. They dont even have time to accumulate

Before breeding you should let the water sit for about two week without any fish in it with some live plant.
EBay or ab

You could use oak leaves to substitute IAL. Raise temp to 80-82. And no pumps - you need a slight film on the water surface so the bubbles would last longer.

Aged water means just letting the water sit for days to weeks with only plants in them so infusoria can grow.
