So it sort of happened by accident , I was planning on breeding them just not so soon.
And I was conditioning the pair and well I came up stairs to the female and the male happily swimming together
The female had been eggy for a really long time
and this is a new male
so you see I let them swim around and it took hours but he started making a nest
the thing is
the female doesn't wanna wait
she keeps popping his bubble nest rubbing all over him trying to get him to wrap her
so I separated them till he was done and he is quite the perfectionist with his bubble nest
(They're in a ten gallon tank heated and clean with a light btw with plants and hiding places )
Heres my problem
SHES SO FAT HE CANT WRAP HER
when conditioning I fed her quite a bit and shes a little piggy ,
will waiting a day or two before feeding help him wrap her?
they've tried about 15-20 times
also these are first time parents

She is messing up the nest because she doesn't like it yet. She's flirting with him to keep him interested so he doesn't get discouraged. Not real sure why they were even in the same tank if you weren't ready to spawn them. If he can't wrap her the eggs won't be fertilized and they will just rot. I doubt not feeding her for a few days will help if they are so close in size that when she has eggs she is too big for him.

I was ready she was in a glass piece so they could see each other
shes just a good jumper
I just wanted to make sure they could see each other so when I did mix them in the same tank they weren't super aggressive
Neither really have any injuries so.

If to aren't prepared with live food cultures, a proper breeding set up (no gravel), jars, and all the other things you need, don't let them breed. Take the female out and put her back in her own tank.

If you are 100% ready, leave them. They will figure it out eventually.
