I know but pet smart said its ok and they seem to be settling down now.
Just do Bettas have teeth like so he could seriously hurt the frog?

bettas do NOT have teeth instead (like any other fish in a freshwater backyard pond bluegill, bass, perch) they have rough almost sandpaper like textures in their jaws and cheeks to resemble as teeth

No, actually, Bettas have teeth: http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/bettafish/anatomy.php

They can't be compared to Blue Gill, Bass, or Perch, or really most "any other fish in a freshwater backyard pond." There are plenty of fish that have actual teeth, and Bettas are one of those species of fish.

Sorry that I don't find that reference compelling, Noah. My understanding is that teeth are made of calcium, they are separate from each other and distinct from the jaw structure.

Sharks, indeed, have teeth, as well as lungfish, pike, gar, Pirhana and many others. Betta have raised ridges and pointy bumps made of of cartilage, part of their jaw.

Some people use the term "teeth" to refer to any apparatus for aquiring and macerating food. That being the case, the correct answer to: "Do Betta have teeth?" is Yes and No.

Everything I have ever read states they have tiny sharp teeth. They can harm a African Dwarf Frog if they want to, especially considering ADFs have delicate skin. I had to remove my ADFs from one of my Betta tanks because the male was very feisty and kept trying to eat their limbs.

I had my tank divided with the frog and two Bettas and a snail and one male was biting everything he could get to including the belly of the snail so I had to remove him

I actually have a betta and an ADF together in a 29g tank with a few zebra danios. I have never seen my betta attack anyone else but i have witnessed and had to take action when the ADF actually grabbed onto the bettas tail and tried to wrestle him to the bottom of the tank. I have my poor betta resting elsewhere for now until i find a place for the ADF.

Same here -- I've even done several searches and have found nothing more than that. Which was why I didn't look for anything more compelling than that link I provided: simply an example of one of many sites stating that they have teeth.

Hallyx, do you have a link or a specific source stating that they don't have actual teeth?

Though, regardless, they certainly have very different mouths and teeth/"teeth" than the fish they had been compared to in that regard.
