Often, the expiration date is printed on the container. If you can't find it on the side, look on the cover (lid) and on the bottom. Sometimes, it's posted there.

If there's no expiration date anywhere, how long have you had it? Also, what brand(s) is it?

If there are antioxidants or preservatives on the list of ingredients, it will last longer than foods without these.

Most of the food that I have has an expiration date about 2 years in the future. (Ie: if purchased in 2014, it generally expires around 2016.)
