Hello there,
This is my first post so I hope I'm doing everything correctly...
My Betta (name of Pearl) has just developed a even circular low dome-like bulge / lump appeared on its side, - it seems to be under the skin rather than on the skin - over the swim bladder and end of kidney I think, on the part of the body that lies between the dorsal and anal fins. – above and behind the classic ‘dropsy zone’ Perhaps a tumour – in which case might nothing work? Or perhaps a swim bladder issue or internal parasite. It might be getting slightly bigger but I can't say for sure...
I have a bad feeling about this but would love any advice on medications etc that might potentially help - thank you in advance!
I have about six medicines at home (never used but I like to be prepared!) and wonder if any of these or another might offer any help. None of them seem like the obvious choice except perhaps the first.
1. Interpet 9 Anti-internal bacteria (contains Bronopol, Formaldehyde and Benzalkonium chloride)
2. Waterlife Sterazin for gill and body flukes (contains Acriflavine, Malachite Green, Piperazine Citrate)
3. Waterlife Octozin, for Hole-in-the-head & bloat (contains Dimetridazole)
4. Esha 2000 Fungus Finrot and Bacteria (packaging in German but online research suggests it contains: (1) 6.3 mg Ethacridine lactate, (2) 3.2 mg Copper ++, (3) 0.26 mg Methyl orange, (4) 1 mg Proflavin.)
5. Esha Exit (contains Ethacridine lactate, Malachite Green oxalate, Methylene Blue)
6. API Bettafix (natural remedy?) Melaleuca
