I just got my first import in the mail today. She is very active and healthy. She is also very hungry, but wont eat the food I give her, she goes after it, grabs it, spits it out and then hunts down another. I have come to the realization that she may never have had pellet or frozen food before.

There is a pet store about an hour away that I can get frozen food at, but I am wondering if I might need to order brine shrimp eggs or worm culture?

I have never raised live food before, if she rejects the frozen food too, what should I think about ordering?

It's only been a day. Shipping is extremely stressful for fish. Some fish bounce back more quickly than others (I had a pair of wild bettas spawn the same day they arrived), but I would expect that your female is still acclimating to the change in her environment and water conditions.

A fish isn't going to starve if it goes without food for a few days.

You may find that if she's had a few days of fasting, she may be more inclined to eat what is offered.
