i posted a few days ago about my VT Diesel spitting out pellets cause i thought they were too big, so i got him some smaller ones and he's still spitting them out. Is it possible for a fish to just not be hungry for a few days? i saw him hunting along the bottom of the tank last night after i gave him his dinner, is he eating it off the bottom? (i usually make sure i remove uneaten food, but these sink to the bottom too fast) The pellets ive been buying have a lot of squid and shrimp like ingrediants, does he not like the taste? its the only change ive seen in him besides that.

I dont have a test kit, but his tank is filtered, it doesnt have a heater yet cause i cant find one for a ten gallon at my local pet store so the water is room temp usually. he's in a ten gallon.

He may just want to hunt them!! Can you feed him over some sort of decor/plate, so it's there and sunk, but you can clean easily?

First of all, if you've had him for less than 2 or 3 weeks, he could still be adjusting.
Second - Betta fish kept in cold water (room temp) don't usually have very big appetites and won't eat much.
Third - some Betta fish prefer to eat off the bottom - it's not anything to be worried about - but give him more time to adjust and get him a heater, and I'm betting that you'll soon have a fish who is begging for food.

id think he was ajusting if he didn't eat up until a couple days ago, and im working on getting him a heater he was a surprize gift from my dad and the heater he needs is like thirty dollars.

i'll try the decor/plate idea. i'm starting to think he wants to hunt the pellets cause he gets really excited and charges his food then just looks at one of them boredly and swims away. thanks again.
