My betta has Ick - primarily on tail, it's not in the bad stage yet.

I bought API Aquarium Salt for the treatment. It's currently in a 5 G tank.

I have the heater set to 83 degrees, feels pretty warm, but Mario is doing great at the moment.

This is a new tank, so idk if that's the issue, or the fact that a lot of dust gets into the tank (I have pictures in gallery).

The question is: how much aquarium salt should I put in the tank?? How much salt can the betta handle?

One teaspoon per gallon and I have heard its best to dissolve it in some warm tank water before adding it to your tank. I would just take half a cup of water out of your tank and add the salt and stir it till it dissolves then pour it into your tank.

Just curious, when you say "teaspoon", are you using a kitchen teaspoon (they vary in size but are often 2 to 3 cc) or are you using a measuring teaspoon (5 cc)?

Thank you

There's more than one way to treat ich. You could just raise the temp to at least 86 for 2 weeks and skip the salt.
