bio load and space question

Hello all,

Currently I have the Fluval Spec 5 with 1 Betta, 4 or 5 RCS (not sure if I can find one ofem... :( ). Was thinking of possibly adding some of those dwarf cories. do you think 5 gallons is too small to do that with?
I'm debating whether to return the fluval 5 and get this 13 gallon instead.

If the dwarf cories will be ok in the gallon, I will probably not upgrade at this point. If not, i may.

You thoughts on the matter are appreciated.

Thanks
Matt

This website will help you figure out what you can put in each tank: http://aqadvisor.com/ It will tell you the bioload, how often you need to change, and whether or not it is overstocked.

I have tried this Aqadvior out and it says a Nerite snail with a betta in a 5 gallon is not recommended saying the Nerite snail will get to large. LOL
Yea i've tried Aquadvisor before and i think its a little too strict (and sometimes wrong). I actually think i'll get the bigger one anyways. so I can pt more things in it, more shrimp, a couple snails, some White cloud minnows maybe and the cories. 13 gallons should be enough for all that according to aquadvisor.
True, Nerite snails don't get very big, but I've heard that they have a HUGE bioload, much more than other snails, even given their size.
Yeah definitely get the larger tank. I would not put even dwarf cories in a 5 gallon alone. You should really have 6-10 cories in a group.
I'm pretty sure White Clouds prefer cooler temperatures than Bettas to thrive. Somewhere in the 64-72 degree range.
You could do Endlers!
Forgot: Nerites are various sizes. Natalie Nerite is quite large. She's a Zebra. Norman Nerite is a Batik Nerite and he's pretty big, too. Both are at least 1.5".

I think Olive Nerites are smaller.
Ah I see. good to know about theirs size. I have a Tiger and a zebra Nerite snail in my 5 gallon NPT.=)
