Recently I bought a female betta from petsmart. She is gorgeous, she's so pale you can almost see her insides, except for some spots on her face and the base of her fins(aptly named her Ghostie). Anyway, I know that betta fish are supposed to be top feeders, and my other betta (Mako, like the shark) does eat at the top of the tank when I feed her. I have noticed that Ghostie does not. She waits till the pellets, don't get me started on that, drop to the bottom. Is this an acceptable behavior or a sign that something more is wrong?

This most likely just means that she can't see them floating or that she doesn't recognise them as food until she's able to see them fully submerged. It's not a sign of anything unhealthy. Eventually she will learn to get that off the top, for now just feed 1 at a time
