My heater is making all kinds of itty bitty bubbles that are forming on the heater and on all the plants.... is something wrong with it???

do I need a new heater? If so, is the water ok or not? right now my new fish is floating in his bag, but I'm ready to start adding water to it.... should I change the water and the heater....?????

I just read on another site that it can be caused by taking cold water and using the heater to warm it up... causing excess oxygen,,, thus bubbling... does this sound reasonable to people here??

I was just about to go buy a new heater............

Are the bubbles everywhere or do they look like they're coming out of the heater? If it's coming out of the heater, get a new one. If they're just little bubbles everywhere, you should be good.

I think you're fine. I know my tank gets bubbly after water changes if the two water temps aren't close enough. Sounds like your water is just heating up. I would let your fish float in his bag for a while before adding tank water to his bag. It sounds like he should be fine.

Thanks ... The tank has been heating up since 1:00. It was already 75 when I floated his bag at 3:00. Appreciate the help. Im still at school trying to acclimate him slowly. Been adding water every 15 min. For the last hour and a half. Think he's ready for the plunge??
