I'm curious as to how many posters have had mature bettas suddenly change colour. If so - got any pics?

Sid Fishus has gone from a solid deep red with a tiny bit of blue on his dorsal fin (when I first got him a few weeks ago):

to this (taken a couple days ago) - you can't see his fins, but the dorsal is almost 1/4 blue as of this morning, and there's more blue 'rays' in his tail:

Anyone know what (beside the change from fry to mature fish) causes colour change? Food? Water quality? I'm really curious as to how and why this happens.

Pitluvs, LOL. I'd forgotten all about Freddy! Daughter and I were marvelling over his colour change not long ago.

Twitch has turned such a pretty green (or is that turquoise?)! So this is pretty common, then? I figured it might be, and also that it was something to do with water and nutrition.

Can't wait to see a few more 'chameleon acts'.
