So my little dude is constipated I've tryed diphania & empsom salt one teaspoon for each gallon I havem in a 5gallon tank with about 4.5 gallons so I put 5teaspoons in......I kept the filters off for a day n a half...try to feedem everyother day after his swollen belly isn't so swollen...he's been like this for about three weeks now....last 2# was bout close to two weeks ago...the swelling hasn't been much of an issue till tonight again....I even soaked his pellets in like 1teaspoon for maby 3table spoons of water.....I keep up with water changes ..he dosnt have any tankmates....I have a filter system in the 5gallon tank...I use stress coat when changing the water...ph is around 7.0....the tank isn't really cycled so there shoudnt be any amonia or nitrate issues...any other options? The empsom salt dosnt get absorbed thru the filters right.....?

i had a fish die recently that had a bloated stomach. i think adding epsom salt just stressed him.

dont worry about him not eating. betta can go for weeks on little or nothing. by nature they're just little pigs.
