Hi! I've been very confused about cycling tanks but I think I've sort of figured it out. I have an idea about it- instead if using ammonia could I use some of the dirty water from the bottom of Cosmo's tank that has been sitting in a container that would produce ammonia? Or could anyone tell me some other alternatives to pure ammonia? Thanks!

You can use fish food, you could add snails, (they poo a lot) or you could add a fish. Certainly old dirty water would help a cycle, and if you have any cycled tanks wig seeded media that'd be nice. Finally tetra safe start is worth the money
