I picked up a bottle of Prime, since it is supposed to be a great dechlorinator. I see it also 'detoxifies' ammonia.

Will this effect my cycling? Is there anything special I need to do? Will this affect my API test kit results for ammonia, nitrite, and/or nitrate?

Thank you all for putting up with all my questions! I'm just trying to do things the best way possible and I have never used Prime before.

The Prime will change the ammonia to ammonium...the beneficial bacteria can still use that for the cycling process, however, you may still test positive for ammonia since the test kit can't tell the difference....
