I divided my 6.6 g tank. LuckyBlue and Littleblue are now neighbors but they are flaring at each other a lot. Is this ok or would it be too stressful after a while?

Would it be better to put a girl on the other side.?

I've already tried putting plants and decorations on the divided edge to prevent so much flaring but to no avail.

Any thoughts?

I would shy away from the girl unless you plan on breeding. There could be all sorts of problems, between jumping the barrier to the girl getting eggy and bloating. It took my boys a few months to get used to one another and even now they still flare at each other.

Did you make the divider? I would get a non-transparent one. People make them out of craft things (stickies are on the site). I wouldn't want my boys always flaring at each other, I would think they'd get too stressed out. Betta's like to have their territory to themselves. Try to replace the divider with a dark one.

You think I could get like a solid plastic notebook divider and just put in up against the divider... I did make it myself.. I used black hoping that would help... The tank is not filtered so I guess the water doesn't really need to circulate..

I think they are spending too much time flaring and not enough time just hanging out...
