I have a divided 10 gallon tank for two of my Bettas. I had just finished setting it up last night and allowed it to filter overnight. But what concerns me is the light. It is a very bright white light. Will my Bettas be effected by this? I will be having it on in the day and off at night.

IMO, it depends on the fish. Bright light might make him uncomfortable to a degree, if he can't get away from it once in a while. If they stress too much, illness can follow. Most of my Bettas enjoy a dark spot to hide in occasionally, some don't. A bright light will rattle them first thing in the morning. I have a Finnex Stingray on a tank with a little half moon. You could land airplanes with that light. No problems noted except for the wake up call.

I have a few that hate the light, my black CT especially, lurks in the shadows all the time. Light doesn't bother the girls in my sorority at all, soon as I turn it on in the am they all come racing out begging for breakfast.
I turn on lights just before feeding every morning, so they all associate the light coming on with breakfast. Greedy things.
