I got a new betta the other day and Alize's his tail is much much larger then the other veil tails I have, I also noticed that he has a split on the end as well.

I've noticed his spine slightly curved when he swims and was wondering if he was a double tail? I heard the spinal deformation is common in double tails.

Uhmmm... Not sure why that is upside down but here is one compared to my largest VT

He's a normal VT, no dt in him. Dts will have two distinct tails and a enlarged dorsal fin.

Will they heal? Hasn't changed much since I got him

Clean warm water and time will heal it. Don't worry.
