My betta has'nt eaten in a week , and has been hiding his cave .Today he finally came out and i just noticed that my betta has drospy . I was wonderin what are the proper steps to care for him. Also can other betta contract this diease? HELP HELP HELP !!

If it actually is dropsy, then it is fatal. I've never heard of a fish recovering from dropsy. Epsom salt may help relieve some of his discomfort, though.

Try reposting this in the disease section, filling in this form: http://www.bettafish.com/showthread.php?t=49233 It will provide information for the people to be able to analyse and help you. :) I would also suggest a picture if you can.

Really the best thing to do if you are capable of doing it is euthanasia. I had to do it just two days ago. It was easier than I thought but still painful.

How do you know that it is indeed dropsy?
