Just lost my first real betta to my hang on back filter....which had taken a corycat previously.. I thought he would be okay with the filter because only that cory had ever gone in the filter (and frequently) to my knowledge.

the filter has been unplugged, and will remain that way.

Rest in peace akai the halfmoon betta, and slate the peppered corycat.

Im sorry for your loss. Maybe you could put a Spandex material on the filter to have it on and not have a problem with it. Or like stockings so the water will flow a lot easier and not have a problem with fish being sucked up.

If not I would just get a new filter or put it in another tank with bigger fish.

Good Luck!
