He's going to get a new home when he hits 2.5 inches :]
Got a 20gal at my parent's house, I just wanted to keep him where I could keep an eye on him until he grew a bit more, since my parent's don't take as good of care of the fish as I do, and when I got my BN he was barely even an inch long
I'll probably message Sakura8 soon, but from what I've been reading of other threads, tumor is the most likely culprit, which could almost be reassuring. Tumors are an unfortunate fact of nature, but are stable, usually predictable, and while they're not curable, there's really nothing I could do to make it worse. And also, not something I could have caused ^^;
However, as a side note, most of the lumps that turn out the be tumors that people describe are all in approximately the same spot on the left side. I'm wondering, just as curiosity, if there is an organ in betta that is on that side, and is particularly prone to tumors? Perhaps it could be studied at some point, especially since the symptoms are all the same.
Just a thought
