There is what seems like a clear or white film that appears on only 2 of my four tanks. I have heaters in all of them and clean them every 2 days or so. I also do partial water changes on the off days. My fish are healthy and moving around but the film appears and doesn't go away until I change the water. What's it from and what can I do different to keep it away?

This is a protein film and is perfectly normal. you can remove it by laying a paper towel on the surface and the pulling it away. Personally I like to use a large cooking syringe to extract it.

I had that same problem but what I did was put a small air stone in there and it cleared up. But if the fish tank is not 5 gallon+ I don't recommend the air stone because you want to give space to the fish to swim freely without bubbles against it
