So, all my fish are improving! Blur has grown about a quarter of an inch and his colors are vividly metallic blue and turquoise. He's also made a good sized and really thick bubble nest!
My boyfriend (I Am Puff)'s fish Sashimi has REALLY colored up! He's so sparkly and his colors are always changing in different light. We think his tail split will likely never heal up, as its been several weeks and he's had a few other nips and tears along the way, all of which healed up in a day or two, but not his tail... Still he eats a lot and seems content!
My female fry from PetCo has grown a bit too! When I first got her she was just barely the size of a pinky nail! Now she's almost a whole inch long! Her color is coming in too on her fins and I started seeing v branching in the ends of her tail fin! I'm beginning to wonder if she'll be a Plakat or maybe a HM/Crowntail~ Let me know what you think. I tried to get some good shots of her tail but she's so tiny and fast its hard xD
Also, I got a 10 gallon set up and running with filter. It will be for the female when she's big enough. So far its got 3 peppered cory cats and 3 Mickey Mouse Platy (light yellow-white so as to not bother the betta), 2 female 1 male(by accident, I don't think the PetSmart guy knew how to sex fish...) They're so much fun to watch, and I'm finding that I'm OBSESSED with the cory cats. Anyone know how to sex peppered cory cats? And yah I know groups of 5+, but the fish peoples said they sell them in groups of 3 and they do just fine. :T Hopefully it works out. If not, Aqadvisor said they do best in groups of 4... If they seem unhappy I'll stop by and get 1 more
Right now they're just little babes (2 inches). They've got about another inch to grow~ We'll see what happens with the Platys... I didn't want to have platy fry but... my betta isn't going in for a while so... I dunno. PS more plants to be bought when the female is ready to move in~
