How long will frozen brine shrimp or blood worms keep once thawed? I use so little per feeding that I put the rest in water in a small jar in the refrigerator.
Thx.

I buy the ones that come in small cubes.
I put one cube in some water and wait until the desired amount of worms have separated from the cube, then take the cube out and place back in the freezer.
I don't trust them in the fridge because they turn black after a day or two.
You shouldn't refreeze them.. cut out a decent chunk and thaw that out in a bit of tank water, put the rest back into the freezer immediately. Most freezing processes takes out a lot of nutrition as it is.. and refreezing can cause them to burn and not be good to eat.
Unsure how long they can last thawed- but I wouldn't use them for more then 24 hrs, as it's dead animals that were processed to be frozen and eaten immediately after thawing.
Great - thx for the replies!
Ah yes, and make sure to cut off a TINY TINY chunk for thawing! Once it all seperates there is a lot there.

I just started feeding frozen foods too and wasted sooo many bloodworms because i thawed out much too big of a piece (even though it seemed small at first)
